Arrival Pier Basel
Depending on the water level, your cruise liner either arrives at St. Johanns Rheinweg 6, (regular arrival and departure pier) or if the water levels are low, at the main harbor in Kleinhüningen. The arrival in Kleinhüningen involves a 10-15 minute walk to the tram stop. The most convenient way to get there is by cab.

Using public transportation upon arrival at the main arrival/departure pier is simple. You should take the small street away from the river and St. Johanns Tor will be visible after about 100 yards. St. Johanns Tor is the stop for tram #11 which will take visitors to Bahnhof SBB/Aesch. ( train station SBB/Aesch )

From Kleinhüningen you will have to walk to the final stop of tram #8. The staff of the cruise line will pinpoint visitors in the right direction. (Westquaistrasse to Hochbergstrasse crossing over a small river and the final stop of tram #8 is in sight ) This tram will take you to the main station called Basel SBB.
