Disentis
Disentis, located in the upper part of the valley of the Anterior Rhine (Surselva). Disentis is a bilingual village. German as well as Romansh (the 4th official language of Switzerland) are spoken. Mustér, as Disentis is known in Romansh, is a place of tradition. One of the most important sacred buildings in the Grisons is the Disentis Benedictine Monastery. Founded in the 8th century, the Benedictine Monastery Disentis also houses the oldest school of the canton Grisons with 200 pupils. Nowadays, 30 members live and work in the Monastery.

The Baroque collegiate church, dating from 1712 has two onion-domed towers and rich stucco work and painted ceilings. The 14 churches and chapels in the various areas show the influence of religion on daily life. They are also of interest in terms of architectural history. The St. Johann Parish Church dates from the 11th century and various architectural styles are apparent on the tower: as well as Romanesque windows and Gothic elements, it also has a typical baroque onion roof.

Museum Cristallina
With 500 exhibits, the Cristallina museum exhibits the example of the entire mineral deposits of Surselva, which is one of the most mineral-rich areas in Switzerland. The finds originate from all over Surselva, including the crystal and mineral searcher areas such as Val Giuvs and the Cavradi gorge. These stone categories are presented together with gold findings in the lower ground floor of the Cons gymnasium and 100 further crystals are on display at the Hotel Rhätia in Disentis.

The network of hiking and biking routes around the monastery village is well developed.
