Fieschertal
Fieschertal – a spick-and-span village consisting of seven hamlets, with fine views up to the Fiescher glacier, a vast area including most of the Aletsch Glacier and extending as far as the Mönch and the Jungfrau. In the old part of the village you can see the typical weathered houses of the Valais.
Eggishorn and Aletsch Glacier
Take the bus from Fieschertal to Fiesch and board the cable car up to Fiescheralp. Change to another gondola up to Eggishorn from where you’ll have a spectacular view of the Aletsch Glacier as well as the Jungfraujoch with Mönch and Jungfrau, Fiescher Glacier, Simplon Pass and also the famous Matterhorn.
The Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps, 23 kilometres long, 27 billion tonnes of ice, the high point of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn.
Walking
If time allows, take a walk from Fieschertal to Fiesch or vice versa and enjoy a wonderful walking path.
