Grindelwald
Grindelwald is among one of Europe's oldest mountain resorts and lies in a valley situated in the beautiful Bernese Oberland on the northern side of the Alps. Grindelwald is surrounded by the spectacular mountain trio "Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau", and the small town looks back on a long standing tradition of tourism. It combines a foreground full of country charm - fields planted with fruit trees or maples and dotted with pretty dwellings - with a grand rocky barrier stretching from the shoulder of the Wetterhorn to the pyramid of the Eiger. Grindelwald is the only mountain resort in the Jungfrau area which can be reached by car.
Discover Grindelwald
Grindelwald is an ideal place for travelers that wish to enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland. The Eiger village in the Bernese Oberland lies embedded in a welcoming and green hollow, surrounded by a commanding mountainscape with the Eiger north face and the Wetterhorn. This mountainscape and numerous lookout points and activities make Grindelwald one of the most popular and cosmopolitan holiday and excursion destinations in Switzerland, as well as the largest ski resort in the Jungfrau region.

On both short and long hikes, visitors will find nature, undisturbed, between high mountains, deep valleys, mountain lakes, and waterfalls. There are 300 km of walking trails around Grindelwald. The high-altitude walk from Grindelwald-First along the Bachalpsee to the Faulhorn mountain hotel and then on to the Schynige Platte ranks among the most beautiful hikes of the region. An easy walk with fantastic views of the three world-famous mountains of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau leads from the Männlichen up onto the Kleine Scheidegg.
Winter
The two ski regions of First and Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen – Wengen offer 160 kilometres of ski trails with around 30 lifts reaching up to an altitude of 2500 m. The Schilthorn near Mürren, also part of the Jungfrau region ski arena, even reaches 2971 metres. However, the most spectacular trail of the region is without a doubt the Lauberhorn piste near Wengen, made famous by the yearly World Cup downhill ski race. Choose from 80 kilometers of winter walking trails with views across seven 4000m peaks and majestic glaciers, as well as 60 km of toboggan runs, including, at 15 km, one of the longest toboggan runs in the Alps from the Faulhorn into the valley.
