Gruyeres / Broc: Visit of Chocolate and Cheese Factory

You would start the day with a train on the Golden Pass tracks from Montreux to Montbovon. Trains leaves from Montreux at :44 minutes of every hour. In Montbovon you have a connection urban train S60 which leaves at :40 minutes of every hour. Upon arrival in Gruyeres you can visit the Cheese Factory which is right next to the train station. Then you walk up to the village of Gruyeres. It is an old fortress and makes a great place for lunch. Among the shops there is also an H.R. Giger Museum in Gruyeres (re: movie Aliens).

After lunch you walk down to the train station of Gruyeres and take a train to Broc-Fabrique. There are trains leaving Gruyeres for Broc-Fabrique at every full hour and the train takes 26 minutes to arrive in Broc-Fabrique. Make sure you ride the train until Broc-Fabrique and don't get off in Broc.

Then to get back to Montreux you would take the train back to Montbovon which leaves at :36 minutes of every hour. In Montbovon you connect again with the Golden Pass train or a regional train at :26 minutes of every hour.

Cheese Factory in Gruyeres:
Opening times are 9 AM - 6 PM. Last ticket sale 30 minutes before closure. Open daily.

Caillier Chocolate Factory in Broc:
Opening times are April to October: 10 AM - 6 PM and from November to March: 10 AM - 5 PM. Last ticket sale 1 hour before closure. Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
