Zurich for Families
There are an increasing number of offers for families with children. Zurich has a large range of cultural events for families with children. Numerous museums organize special workshops, and there are performances for children in the Tanzhaus (dance theater) and Tonhalle Zurich (concert hall). A circus comes to Zurich every year – with its animals in the spring and clowns and acrobats at Christmas. There's fantastic animal fun at the Zurich Zoo – with Masoala rain forest and elephant park – as well as at the Wildnispark Zurich or the Children' Zoo in Rapperswil. The parks and nature reserves in Zurich and the region provide lots of excursion options: on foot, by bike or by boat. Parks with barbecue spots and many playgrounds in the city entice you to linger. There are special offers for families in a few restaurants and hotels too.

Knie’s Children's Zoo belongs to Switzerland’s tradition-steeped Knie Circus, and is a popular meeting place for animal lovers of all ages: ton-heavy Asian elephants, inquisitive African miniature goats, quick-to-learn South American sea lions and agile squirrel monkeys all guarantee a wealth of fascinating experiences.  A ride on a pony or, for those with a head for heights, a two-humped camel, enables close-up contact to the animal. The very courageous even venture onto an elephant's back. A nostalgic trip on a vintage horse-drawn tram, the pirate ship and the adventure playground also offer plenty of fun. The newly constructed elephant park, “Himmapan”, is one of the highlights at Knie's Children's Zoo. It features plenty of space for the animals and a bridge as an ideal viewing-point to observe the elephants below.

Jucker Farm Seegräben
Not only fruit and vegetables grow on the Jucker Farm – it's a place of adventure for families to enjoy. Children can really let off steam on a visit to the Jucker Farm. Whether climbing on a castle made of bales of hay, fun and games on a natural playground or feeding goats in the "Geisslipark". And when the apples are ripe you can pick one freshly from a tree as you make your way through an exciting maze – as well as pick your own cherries and berries according to season. Moreover, tasty seasonal treats from the farm shop and farm restaurant please young and old alike. Freshly grown asparagus in spring and a pumpkin exhibition in autumn are further attractions and definitely annual highlights.

Kinder City
Play and discover science in an exciting indoor space covering more than 7000 m2 (75,000 ft2). This is the biggest Edutainment Center in Switzerland for families with children younger than 12 years. By playing at different activities, children learn to manipulate, observe, analyse, exchange, experience... Parents and teachers are welcome to accompany children on this expedition and to support their curiosity and willingness to learn. Of course, there are different kinds of activities and each one is suited to a specific age.
